Are You Ready?

Just yesterday, an earthquake hit the city of Lahore in Pakistan. Recent terror attack in France has shaken the whole world. US police officers and civilians were shot dead in separate incidents causing a huge uproar in the country. News is filled with all such incidents. Even in families, there is no peace. Everywhere we see lawlessness increasing and people’s love is growing cold. Doesn’t all this remind us of Jesus’ warnings given in Matthew 24? We should be reminded of the fact that everything is pointing out to the second coming of Lord Jesus Christ – He is near, right at the door (Matthew 24:33). For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be (Matthew 24:27). “For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will” (Matthew 24:44). Are you so engrossed in the things of this world that you may be left behind? Or are you ready for HIS coming?
