Love Does Not Envy
It is very easy to use the word LOVE, but it is very hard to show LOVE.
1 Corinthians 13:4 says that LOVE does not envy/feel jealous. We as human beings are not spared from this attitude of being envious/jealous of others. Proverbs 6:34 says that ‘For jealousy makes a man furious and he will not spare when he takes revenge’. Jealousy leads us to be angry on God, angry on others and angry on ourselves also. Job 5:2 says ‘For anger slays the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple’. Many times we don’t realize, but envy makes us to be victim of it and kills ourselves.
Envy causes us to seek what other people have, but LOVE causes us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Envy brings dissatisfaction in our lives, but LOVE brings satisfaction/contentment with what we have (Hebrews 13:5). Envy doesn’t like when other people share their joy, but LOVE rejoices with those who rejoice (Romans 12:15). May the LORD help you to put off envy and put on LOVE.
