5 T’s
Remember the 5 Ts – Time, Talents, Treasures, Tongue, & Temperance – and examine how well you are utilizing each T for the glory of God.
- Redeem the TIME because the days are evil (Eph 5:16). Do not spend your precious time on things of no value but spend time on things of eternal value like reading God’s Word and telling about Christ to others.
- In the parable of TALENTS, the one who got two talents did not complain that the other person got five, but instead gained two more (Matt 25:17). We should make full use of our talents for the glory of God, and not complain by looking at others.
- Regarding TREASURES, Jesus said “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). We should help God’s work and His children for the extension of His kingdom.
- TONGUE is compared to fire and poison in third chapter of James. A small boneless internal organ Tongue can do such harm. We should be careful in what we say. Our words should encourage others and not discourage others.
- The last T is TEMPERANCE which is fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:23). We should examine if we are short tempered and harm others; or maintain good temperance and be an example to others.
May we follow Jesus who set an example for us in all 5 Ts!
