LEAP DAY
LEAP day (February 29) is an extra day added to the end of February every four years because of the earth taking slightly longer than 365 days for a complete revolution around the sun. LEAP means to jump or spring to a greater height. The Bible talks about LEAPING for joy with praises, because of our faith and experience with Christ. In Luke 6:22-23, Jesus said, “Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake. Rejoice in that day and LEAP for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, for in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.”
Elizabeth’s baby LEAPED for joy in her womb when she met Mary carrying Jesus Christ in her womb (Luke 1:44). When the lame man was healed, the Bible says in Acts 3:8, “With a LEAP he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and LEAPING and praising God.”
Let us utilize this LEAP day effectively by experiencing joy and praises unto the Lord because – “This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). Happy LEAP Day !!
