Mighty Fortress
Recently we had Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Zion Church – with the theme ‘Mighty Fortress’. Zion means fortification. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer (2 Samuel 22:2). We are thankful to God for enabling us to teach the children during VBS that there is victory in Christ Jesus. Lessons about victories during the times of Joshua, Hezekiah and Josiah enabled the children to know that our God is mighty to save and protect His people. The triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem with people holding palm branches (representing victory) and the triumphal victory of Jesus from the death are significant in knowing that victory is already won – and all that we should do, is to believe in Jesus to be our Savior and Lord. We are thankful for all the prayers and participation in the recent VBS, which enabled us to glorify our victorious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
