Joy of the Lord is our strength
Do not be grieved, the joy of the Lord is our strength. Neh 8:10
In Nehemiah chapter 8, we see a significant shift in the focus of the Israelites; from building the wall of Jerusalem, to
building up of their lives spiritually. One of the key disciplines that they practiced to build up their lives spiritually, was to give priority to the Word of God. It is easy for us to become so preoccupied with the physical, that we neglect the spiritual. We must make the Word of God a priority in our lives. The Bible brings out joy in the life of the Christian!
A man of God said,
Happiness is the absence of problems;
joy is presence of God’s peace in spite of our problems,
Joy is not dependent on circumstances.
