YOU ARE CHOSEN

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession. – 1 Pet 2:9

Bible says, “many are called, but few are chosen” and Jesus said, “you have not chosen Me, but I chose you”. He has chosen us to salvation (2 The 2:13), to service ( Deut. 21:5) and to be with our God forever (Rev 17:14). God did not choose us because we are so special, but purely out of His abundant love and grace.

In the Old testament, royalty and priesthood are totally separated and no king has acted as a priest. But Jesus, who is our King and High Priest, has brought these together for His chosen, by thus we are called “royal priesthood”. While we are priests, we will be also rulers as it says, we are “joint-heirs with Christ” – Rom 8:17. It is wonderful to think that we are “chosen” to be a “royal priesthood”, a “holy” nation and God’s special “possession”. Let us reflect our lives and act based on these four marks of the God’s children. Have a bless day.
